Exploring Our Foundation

In our recent special yoga session, we ventured into a fundamental yet often overlooked area of practice: the pelvis. With Shanti undergoing renovations, we gathered in a new, inspiring space designed for exploration, creativity, and movement together, at Freefall.

The Power of Grounding

During this session, we focused on the profound significance of grounding. The pelvis, often considered the body's foundation, plays a crucial role in our sense of stability, security, and confidence in life. As we explored this essential region, we became acutely aware of how its alignment and movement influence our overall well-being.

Chakras and Connection

We explored into the connection between the pelvis and two key chakras: Muladhara (Root) and Svadhisthana (Sacral). Understanding these energy centers allowed us to appreciate how the pelvic area not only supports our physical body but also serves as a vital link to our emotional and spiritual selves.

Engaging the Body

Throughout the session, we engaged and activated the muscle groups and joints associated with the pelvis. By bringing awareness to these areas, we discovered how pelvic movements affect body alignment, enhancing our ability to move with ease and grace.

We also explored various exercises aimed at optimising the pelvic region, supporting our musculoskeletal system, and preventing pain that may arise from tightness or imbalance. The practice was enriched by anatomical boards I shared, which provided visual insight and deepened participants' understanding of the pelvic anatomy. This added layer of knowledge not only enhanced our physical practice but also fostered a greater connection to our bodies.

A Transformative Experience

The session proved to be insightful and transformative for all involved. Participants expressed a newfound awareness of their pelvic region and its impact on their overall posture and movement. It was truly a pleasure for me to guide everyone through this journey of self-discovery and empowerment.

I look forward to our next session and continuing to explore the depths of our practice together!
