This week’s Yoga for Everyone session was more than a practice—it was a ceremony of soul and spirit. We gathered under the powerful light of the Strawberry Full Moon in Sagittarius, a time that calls us to open up, expand, release, and dream boldly.

As the moon illuminated the sky, we turned inward to illuminate our inner worlds. The energy of Sagittarius, a fire sign ruled by Jupiter, whispered its mantra: there is more, more to learn, to live, to feel. Whether through movement, learning, travel, or stillness, this is a time to say yes to the journey within and beyond.

Rooted & Rising

We started by grounding ourselves through the Root Chakra, our energetic foundation. It’s essential to feel stable and supported before we can safely expand. Through gentle somatic exercises, we reconnected to our bodies—our first and forever home.

Then we moved to the Throat Chakra, awakening our voice, our truth, and our ability to express from the heart. I could feel the shift in the room—the energy of clarity and confidence rising.

We practiced a series of postures that mirrored this dance of earth and sky:

  • Butterfly Pose for inner reflection and hip release

  • Gate Pose (Parighasana) to open the sides of the body and gaze beyond the horizon

  • Fish Pose to crack the heart wide open and lift the throat

  • Shoulder Stand, an inversion to flip perspective and elevate our view

Moon Salutations & Breathwork

In honor of the full moon, we flowed through Moon Salutations, moving with intention and reverence. Our breath guided us, especially through the Ujjayi Pranayama, a gentle, oceanic breath that soothes the mind and steadies the heart.

Mantras of Expansion

To call in the truth-seeking spirit of Sagittarius, we repeated quietly:

  • I expand my horizons and pursue new adventures

  • My mind, spirit, and life are like the sky: limitless

  • I choose to be an eternal sojourner

  • I am curious about new ideas and open to new perspectives

These aren’t just words. They are seeds of intention, planted under the full moon to grow in the light of coming days.

Fire Ritual for Release

I share here a simple yet powerful fire ritual that you can do at home:

Write on a piece of paper what you’re ready to release—an old pattern, a limiting belief, an emotion that no longer serves. Safely burn it (in a fireproof container or outside) and let the flame transform and carry it away. Fire is a sacred purifier—it clears space for something new, a perfect way to work with the energy.

Tea for the Throat Chakra

After the session, we always gather over healing cups of tea. This session’s blend was a bright infusion of ginger, turmeric, galangal, lemongrass, lemon, and honey—a soothing elixir in a cup to warm the voice and nourish the soul.

These moments after class—sharing tea, quiet smiles, spontaneous stories—are a soft ceremony of their own.

This full moon reminded me of something essential: we can be rooted and wild, stable and curious, grounded and soaring. I saw it reflected in the eyes of everyone present—a shared spark of courage, connection, and curiosity. This is what Sagittarius teaches us: Life is vast. Let’s explore it.

Thank you for sharing your energy with me under this magical full moon.

See you on the mat soon.

With love,

Ludmila
