Last Friday Evening on Yoga for Everyone Session: Exploring the Power of the Stomach in Yoga
On the evening of October 18th, I had the honor of leading my first evening session at Freefall, and it was truly a special experience.
We focused on the stomach—our center of energy, emotion, and physical strength. When the stomach is active and happy, we naturally feel more accomplished and in tune with ourselves.
We started with abdominal breathing exercises, awakening our deep muscles and bringing mindful awareness to our core. From there, we moved into gentle asanas that emphasized core stability, allowing participants to connect with their breath and body.
As the session progressed, I could feel a shift in the room. Many participants shared that they experienced a deep sense of release, both physically and emotionally, as we uncovered and softened areas of tension that had been held for a long time.
The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the Yoga Nidra, a deeply restorative practice that invites profound relaxation and an open heart. I encouraged everyone to set a Sankalpa—a personal, positive intention—during the meditation, to carry with them throughout the practice and beyond.
A collective sigh of relief filled the space. Many participants described feeling a wave of calm, as they let go of stress and reconnected with their inner selves. The session was truly transformative, leaving everyone feeling lighter, more grounded, and emotionally centered.
By the end of the evening, the room was filled with a sense of peace—a beautiful reminder of the inward journey we had all embarked on together.
If you’re interested in experiencing this session, I’ll be offering it again on Wednesday, October 23rd at 14:30 Brussels time. If you can’t join live, no worries—I’ll try to record it, and you can always reach out for the recording.
Until next time, namaste. 🙏
